The Widgets feature is built into WordPress versions 2.2 and later. If you are running an older version of WordPress, click here to get a plug-in for adding widgets.
Instructions for Newer Versions of WordPress (2.8.x and older)
- From the WordPress Dashboard select APPEARANCE.
- Select WIDGETS.
- Choose the SIDEBAR you want to use (eg. "Sidebar-all") and click the "upside down triangle" to display all the widgets that are displayed on that sidebar.
- From the AVAILABLE WIDGETS on the left, drag the text widget ("arbitrary text of HTML") to the target location on the SIDEBAR you will use.
- Click the "upside down triangle" on the text widget to open it up.
- In the second section (i.e. after the TITLE section) paste the HTML code for the CO2 widget. Click SAVE at the bottom right.
- Add a title to if you want, then click SAVE. The title is visible to visitors, and at the back end.
- Select CLOSE.
- Select VISIT SITE (top left) to see how it looks.
Instructions for Older Versions of WordPress (since version 2.2.x)
- From the WordPress Dashboard select Design.
- Select Widgets.
- Find Text in the Available Widgets list on the left. Select Add. It will be displayed in the Current Widgets list on the right.
- You can drag and drop it to the position you want it in the list.
- Select Edit.
- Click in the Text box and Paste (Ctrl V) the HTML code of the CO2 widget.
- Add a title to the Text box if you want or leave it blank.
- Select Change at the bottom of the box.
- The box will be minimized to just the title.
- Select Save Changes at the bottom of the list of Current Widgets.
Changes Saved will be displayed in a yellow box near the top.
- Select Visit Site to see how it looks.

Illustrated Instructions
Some illustrated instructions have been copied below from Widgetbox. The illustrations apply to some WordPress versions, not the latest versions. Whether the illustrations apply directly, they give some visual guidance of the process.

Add to WordPress.
Now, open a new window or tab and log in to your WordPress blog.

WordPress Log in.
After you login, click on the Presentation link on the Dashboard.

Select Presentation.
Now select the Widgets link.

Select Widgets.
Next, add a new Text widget into your Sidebar.

Add Text Widget.
Now double-click the edit icon to add your widget code. Enter a title for your widget (optional) and paste the Widgetbox code into the body of the text widget. Close the box when you are done.

Edit Text Widget.
After creating your new text widget, click the "Save Changes" button.

Save Changes.
Wordpress will confirm that your Sidebar has been updated. Click the "View site" link to view your new widget.

Sidebar updated.
The widget should display in your blog’s Sidebar. Confirm that everything looks OK.
