Scope

All HTML widgets available from CO2Now.org:

PPM CO2 Widget Series (35 - 55)
Nano CO2 Widget Series (60 - 80)
Rio 92 Widget (92)
Charney CO2 Widget Series (100 - 140)
Tyndall CO2 Widget Series (144 - 200)
Pro Oxygen CO2 Widget Series (250 - 315)
Brundtland CO2 Widget Series (450 - 600)

Enhancements

Expand widget size options to a total of 28 (ranging from 35 pixels wide to 600 pixels wide)

Standardize HTML code for all widgets

Standardize graphic files to the PNG format

Introduce 'version identification' that is embedded in the code for each widget

Initiate the use of a dedicated URL (actionwidgets.org) for serving widget files

Widget code is now available (by request to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ) that will work on websites with an SSL certificate.

Notes

This is the first major upgrade of CO2Now widget code since September 2008 when CO2Now.org was launched with about a dozen widgets. The main benefits of this 2010 upgrade include:

enhancements in internal widget processing and management
enables future expansion of existing widget offerings
enables fortified widget reliability over the long term
enables the availability of widget code (and widgets) that work on secure intranets and websites with an SSL certificate

Users of CO2Now widgets with original code (ie. installed before October 2010) are encouraged to upgrade, especially if it is convenient to make the change. Widgets with original code will continue to display the world's latest data for atmospheric CO2.
